Introduction of the rose 'Dr Louise Welter', 2023

The rose 'Dr. Louise Welter' was introduced on May 23, 2023, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the completion of her medical studies by Luxembourg's first female doctor in 1923. In 1926, she was appointed school doctor for the city of Luxembourg and from then on she worked to improve the health conditions of children, both to improve their living conditions and their physical condition, by organizing gymnastics classes and promoting vaccinations.

This purple-violet rambler rose, bred by KORDES ROSEN, was donated by the Patrimoine Roses Luxembourg association as part of its rose series for deserving Luxembourg women.
