The rose “Prince Guillaume, Grand-Duc héritier de Luxembourg” is a generous shrub rose with a romantic style. Its well-formed flowers, in perfect rosettes with numerous petals of a refined fresh pink colour, reveal a small green eye in the centre. Their beauty is similar to that of the old Portland roses. The balanced fragrance is a sweet blend of old rose with notes of myrrh. The rose bush, with its dense vegetation and matt green foliage, is highly resistant to disease.
Born on 11 November 1981, Prince Guillaume, Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg, is the eldest son of H.R.H. Grand Duke Henri and the Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg. The non-profit organisation Patrimoine Roses Luxembourg offered this charming rose bush to the Hereditary Grand Duke for his 40th birthday.
The rose “PPrince Guillaume, Grand-Duc héritier de Luxembourg” was baptised on 8 September 2021 at the “Op de Rondellen” rose garden in Luxembourg City.
