The exceptional vigor of this large multiflora hybrid climber is impressive. The plant requires solid support and appropriate pruning to tame its long, sprawling branches. Its small, deep pink rosettes are beautifully highlighted by shiny green foliage and bloom in large clusters on long, flexible branches. It is very healthy but can be susceptible to powdery mildew. The unique but long flowering period is followed by numerous small rose hips in autumn, which are a favorite food of birds. This old climbing rose has no fragrance and tolerates partial shade.
The origin of this rose's name remains a mystery.
