The velvety flowers are bright purple-red to violet in color and with an intense fragrance. They open in flat rosettes. The Bourbon rose “Robusta” can also be grown as a climbing rose. Its dark green foliage is very susceptible to marsonia. Planted in a favorable location, the first early flowering is magnificent. After a period of rest and good care, the rose blooms again.
True to its name, this old Bourbon rose has survived to this day. However, it should not be confused with a Rugosa hybrid from 1979 that has the same name.
