This repeat-flowering rambling rose is covered in clusters of small, semi-double flowers with a light fragrance. The petals are purple-violet in colour with a few white streaks and golden stamens. Its copper-coloured autumn foliage and numerous small rose hips are a real eye-catcher at the end of the season. A robust and healthy climbing rose.
Louise Welter (1897-1999), Luxembourg's first female doctor, graduated with a degree in medicine in 1923. She became the school doctor for the City of Luxembourg in 1926, a newly created position. In order to improve the appalling hygiene and health conditions, especially among children in the suburbs, she insisted on weekly showers, introduced gymnastics classes and the distribution of milk in classrooms. She supervised vaccinations and organised health retreats and summer camps. For more than 30 years, Dr Louise Welter devoted herself body and soul to the well-being of children.
