Walferdange is a small moschata hybrid with dark green foliage that is easy to grow. Its romantic double flowers, which develop from ovoid buds, have a light fragrance and display fresh pink petals with a hint of yellow at the base. Quick to repeat flowering, it is a delightful border rose that can be combined with perennials or grown in pots. The graceful flowers are perfect for floral arrangements.
The rose was introduced on 1 July 1990 in Walferdange on the occasion of various associations' anniversaries, including the 25th anniversary of the Walferdange Tourist Office and the 10th anniversary of the Lëtzebuerger Rousefrënn. In the past, the town Walferdange played a significant role in the history of roses in Luxembourg. With fertile soil and a favourable microclimate along the Alzette River, Walferdange and its surroundings were home to several family-run rose farms.
