The “Machera” rose is a naturally elegant moschata hybrid that blooms tirelessly in generous clusters. The semi-double flowers, a pure light yellow, are similar in colour to white wine. The corollas, punctuated with amber stamens, have a pleasant spicy fragrance. When fully open, the petals turn white and continue to adorn the bush until late autumn. The shiny olive green foliage of this easy-to-grow variety is highly resistant to disease.
'Machera' is one of the earliest documented names of the town of Grevenmacher (L), whose origins date back to Celtic and Roman times. The Metropolis of the Moselle is a picturesque wine-growing locality.
The rose “Machera” was introduced on 12 May 2023, in the garden of the Osbourg-House in Grevenmacher.
